Course Description

This minor program is split up into six videos that describe emotional expression, assertiveness and independence. Employees will discover how effectively they are able to communicate how they are feeling to others which can avoid misperceptions from colleagues. 

Self-expression is the ability to express your feelings and emotions, both verbally and nonverbally. You’ll discover how well you communicate how you feel to others so they aren’t left speculating, and learn how effective communication can positively impact your relationships. This course delves into how you can use the self-expression competencies to express yourself in a way that is understood, respected and well-received from your superiors, peers and subordinates.

Carolyn Stern

Carolyn Stern is a successful entrepreneur who specializes in helping professionals get unstuck. As a life-long learner and academic, Carolyn is a university professor, corporate trainer, certified Emotional Intelligence and Leadership Development Expert, author and professional speaker. She combines real-world experience as both a business leader with more than two decades as a trainer and educator. Carolyn’s focus and passion have been on teaching emotional intelligence, leadership and team building in the workplace. She drives individuals and corporations to learn how to connect authentically, communicate effectively and thrive collectively by interweaving emotional intelligence along the way. Due to her undeniable passion for all things EQ, she also launched a new division of her business called EI Experience, which provides executive leadership development and emotional intelligence training for all management levels and businesses of all sizes and scope. They offer a combination of Leadership Assessments, Private and Group Coaching Sessions, Live Training Workshops, Online Programs, Off-Site Retreats, and Inspirational Keynote Presentations that come in recommended packages or can be customized to the needs of your organization. Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing, a Bachelor of Education, Business Education and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Primary Education from the University of British Columbia. She has also earned a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in International Business from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark and completed a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University. Lastly, she is a Certified Facilitator in the area of Emotional Intelligence with MHS Inc.
